The most common and effective method for tattoo removal is Q-switch laser therapy. This process uses concentrated beams of light to break down the tattoo ink particles in the skin. The shattered particles are then absorbed by the body’s immune system and eliminated.
Number of sessions required depends upon the size and color of tattoo, depth of the ink, age of tattoo and the type of colors used.
Normally 4-6 sessions are needed at a gap of 4-6 weeks.
Birthmark Removal
Birthmark removal techniques depend on the type of birthmark. Small surgical excisions, cryotherapy and injections have been tried in the past, but the most widely used method is the use of laser therapy.
Q switch laser works against the melanin present in the birthmarks, and is thus effective in majority of birthmarks.
Number of sessions and effectiveness depends on the size and depth of the birthmark. Normally, 6 sessions are needed at 4-6 weeks interval.
